Mick The Jiver claims valuable prize

Mick The Jiver produced a fine display to run out a six-and a half-length winner of the valuable Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Novice Handicap Chase Final at Navan on Sunday.

The Apple Tree-gelding was well supported before the three-mile event and having been ridden to assert before the last, he kept on strongly on the run-in to get the better of former pointer Kilcarry Bridge.

 

 

Trained by Eoghan O'Grady, Mick The Jiver made his debut in a four-year-old maiden at Boulta in December 2014 and went on to run respectably in four point-to-points following that debut effort. The seven-year-old is now a four-time winner under rules.

 

Monbeg Notorious recorded his third success under rules at Navan on Sunday, winning a two-mile six-furlong novice hurdle. Formally trained by Donncadh Doyle, the son of Milan was a five-length winner of a maiden at Tralee in 2015.

 

Minellafordollars provided trainer Gordon Elliott with his fifth winner on the day at Navan, as the son of Kings Theatre ran out a eight-and a half-length winner of the bumper under Jamie Codd. The five-year-old looked a good prospect when winning at Lingstown when trained by Denis Murphy.

 

Donegal Tuesday kept on strongly to win a competitive handicap hurdle at Limerick on Sunday. Trained by Michael Hourigan, the daughter of Presenting was a winner on Belharbour under Richie Deegan.

 

Double Scores got his head in front over fences at the sixth time of asking as the Gordon Elliott-trained eight-year-old won a beginners chase at Limerick on Sunday. The Tyrella maiden winner ran out a 13-length winner on the final race on the Limerick card.
