WEEKEND PREVIEW: Largy (Saturday)

WEEKEND PREVIEW: Largy (Saturday)

Dennison Commercials 4yo Geldings Maiden

The Colin Bowe-trained EUR GONE WEST finished a very creditable third behind one of this year’s most impressive four-year-old winners in Stay Humble at Ballynoe. A big run has to be expected on that basis here. Stable companion Risky Gold is another with good form in the book whilst Burrows Edge finished third at Tyrella on debut and he could get closer here. There are a host of well-bred newcomers and the market will give an indication of what is expected from them.

Albert Bartlett 5yo Geldings Maiden

BACK TO BATAAN was only touched off by a neck at Kirkistown in February in a race which has worked out particularly well with three subsequent maiden winners already having emerged from that. He can be expected to add to those winners here. Some Response was running a big race on this card 12 months ago when coming down at the final fence whilst still holding chances, whilst Le Aqua, U No Like and Tom Tom Turnaround are others with claims.

Stonebridge Premium Feeds 5yo+ Adjacent Maiden

LARGY PROSPECT was not quite able to build on a fine second at Lingstown before Christmas when finishing seventh at Oldtown last time out. There were plenty of hard luck stories in that contest and having not been beaten far on that occasion, this drop back in grade should be rewarded. Nobodydoesitbetter is a consistent performer who is likely to be involved, whilst Ben Arthey is a trainer in form following a first career double at Loughanmore last Monday and he could introduce Mud Slide Slim here.

Stoneyford Concrete Mares Winners of Two

HOLYCROSS LITO has been one of this seasons leading mares in winners company and she can bounce back from a below par showing at Loughbrickland here in a very winnable contest. Bollmann Lady makes her seasonal re-appearance and having won well at Curraheen and will likely be suited by conditions, whilst Longhouse Music defeating geldings to get off the mark at Belclare earlier this month, and that entitles her to plenty of respect in this.

Corramore Open

Both SPRINTINGFORGOLD and As The Crow Flies could both make a quick re-appearance having both returned to the winners enclosure at different fixtures last weekend. The former holds many alternative entries across the weekend but if running here he has the stronger form in the book. As The Crow Flies is yet to be fully tested having won with plenty in hand at Loughanmore on Monday. Quiet Account another of last weekend’s open winners is next best.

Killultagh Estates 6yo+ Geldings Maiden (Novice Riders)

SKYHILL ALLSTAR has been running reasonably well of late and as he enters the race in good form, he could be the one to beat in a wide-open contest. Isle Road was well held in third when refusing at the last at Loughanmore on Monday, in a race which the potentially re-opposing Liberty Vane fell at the second-last in, whilst Galbraith could be a danger if returning to his Maralin form from the autumn.
