WEEKEND PREVIEW: Dromahane (Sunday)

WEEKEND PREVIEW: Dromahane (Sunday)

Race 1: Goffs UK Spring Sale 4yo Maiden

The Colin Bowe-trained NAPOLEON BLUE was only beaten a length by the eye-catching Don Des Fosses on his debut at Dawstown earlier this month and he can be expected to vindicate that promise by going close here once again. Rio Quinto was sent off as the favourite for his debut at Broughshane when finishing a close third, ensuring he is a big danger, whilst Mytermsoryours and Order In Court are others who have gone well previously.

Race 2: Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham Sales 5yo Maiden

Perennial runner-up KNOCKOURA has hit the crossbar on no fewer than three outings to date, but he would be a very deserving winner here if managing to get his head in front. What Another Year has been unable to reproduce the form of his Killeagh debut, however with four subsequent maiden winners emerging from that race, he would have to be feared if bouncing back to his best. Quakerstown faller Well Tom, the luckless Ringmoylan and Godsmywitness are others with previous experience who are for the shortlist.

Race 3: Rathbarry Stud & Colin Bowe 5yo+ Mares Maiden

DINOS BENEFIT caught the eye with the manner in which she stayed-on stoutly eating into the advantage of the eventual winner at Bartlemy last Sunday when making her debut. With improvement likely to be forthcoming, she could be the one to beat here. Sunrise Lady has changed stables since chasing home subsequent sales topper Maire Banrigh at Lingstown and should be involved in the shake-up alongside Frozen Motion, Milano Citizen, Sadies Grace and Silver Louna who ensure this looks a competitive contest.

Race 4: ITM, Castlehyde & Grange Studs Ladies Open 4yo+

SPRINTINGFORGOLD and Ourmanmassini are both on the seven-winner mark for the season and involved in a big battle for champion point-to-pointer honours. That pair have had tough campaigns this year and it would be no surprise to see last month's wide-margin Loughrea winner Valco De Touzaine put it up to the pair, especially if the ground comes up quick as he enters the race a fresher horse.

Race 5: Hotel Minella, Clonmel Winners Of Two 4yo+

BURNING AMBITION goes in search of winner number three on the bounce and given that he easily defeated subsequent Cork Hunter Chase winner Black Scorpion at Cragmore on his penultimate start, he could be a tough horse to oppose in this. The Willie Codd pairing of Circuit Court and Imperial Oscar head the last-time out maiden winners engaged here, whilst Blue Mountain Boy who returns over obstacles having been well beaten in a Tipperary Bumper and Rattle The Cage are proven in winners company.

Race 6: Killarney Oaks Hotel 6yo+ Geldings Maiden

ROCKMOUNT ROCKER was only narrowly beaten at Dawstown recently and that could see him enter this race as the one to beat, having also been unlucky at Curraghmore before that. However this is a race packed with previously placed rivals including the likes of Abbey Street, Mabeywhoknowsmabey, Shower Cross, Stay In Touch and Troll Doudairies to ensure he is unlikely to have things all his own way.
