DAYLAMI TO STAND AT COOLAGOWN STUD IN 2010


Seven time Group 1 winner Daylami is to stand at Coolagown Stud for the 2010 breeding season in a deal brokered by Michael Stanley of Castle Hill Bloodstock & Jehan Malherbe of Form Bloodstock, European Champion Older Horse in 1999, his wins include the Breeders Cup Turf, King George V and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, Irish Champion Stakes and the French 2,000 Guineas. Timeform rated 138, he is a half brother to Classic sire Dalakhani.

With Mill Reef, Nasrullah, Mr.Prospector and Buckpasser in his pedigree and a 69 % winners/runners strike rate with mares by Sadler’s Wells and his sons, Daylami is a perfect cross with the abundance of Northern Dancer line mares in Ireland.

The sire of Gr.1 flat winners Grey Swallow (Irish Derby) and Voila Ici (Premio Roma 2009) he has recently come to prominence as a highly successful National Hunt sire with the likes of Gr.1 Triumph Hurdle winner Zaynar (favourite for this year’s Champion Hurdle), Ebaziyan (Gr.1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle), Royal Mougins (three Gr.1 hurdle wins), Pigeon Island (Gr.2 Novice Hurdle winner) as well as Gr.3 winners Ebadiyan, First Row and Timarawa (also Gr.1 placed).
 
With his progeny well-regarded by leading trainers such as Nicky Henderson "These are good tough easy to train horse's, and I will be recommending my owner breeder's to use him", Jessica Harrington and Oliver Brady he has plenty of exciting prospects, including Tetlami, who won a Listed bumper at Cheltenham by 4 lengths, Erzen, Nampour, Gold Award and Whispering Gallery who made it four wins from five starts on his very impressive debut for Godolphin at Meydan last week.


A fee of €3000.00 has been set for him. He Joins Fleetwood sire of recent Cheltenham Gr3 winner The Sawyer & Humbel.
