Double Portrait scores on Bumper debut

Double Portrait made a winning start for his new owner, Tom Doran, when running out an impressive winner of the Pegus Horse Feed Point-to-Point Flat Race for trainer Gordon Elliot.

Jamie Codd who was aboard the son of Portrait Gallery, produced a late run over the final two furlongs and kept on well under a strong drive to hold off  Smithscorner and Fabulous Saga close home.

Having run in three point-to-points this season, where the five-year-old recently finished second at Dromahane in March for his previous handler David O’Brien, before being bought at the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham February sale for £42,500.
