It was a red letter day for Timmy Love as he recorded his first success in the saddle at the Co.Meath fixture in what was also his first mount in a point-to-point.
The Ciaran Murphy-trained Damut I’m Out, returned home in front for Love in the concluding six-year-old and upwards maiden for novice riders, following his recent second placed effort at Castletown Geoghegan.
A good display of jumping matched with a confident ride from the debutant rider secured victory for the seven-year-old where the pair returned to a rapturous reception from friends and family.
The Rathmoylan-native is from a family steeped in racing and eventing as his grandmother Dot Love is a well known figure in the racing world in Ireland and has trained many high profile horses at her Mullingar base of Charlestown Stud including Irish Grand National winner, Liberty Counsel and Shadow Eile to name but a few.
Having only ridden in his first bumper a few weeks previous, the fifth year student at Kings Hospital rides out for his grandmother and Ciaran Murphy at the weekends and during his school holidays.
