The race to be crowned the leading breeder on the pointing circuit this term was tight heading into the final weekend of action but leader Noel Doyle emerged with the title with six wins to his name.

Doyle from Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow has seen three of his stock win six races between the flags this season, his most recent coming with the victory of the Declan Queally-trained Minella For Value at Tralee on the penultimate weekend which was the Old Vic gelding’s 10th point-to-point win along with a further seven on the track.

Doyle also bred The Alchemyst, who provided Pat Collins with his 100th career success and Madera Express from his Wicklow base who won impressively at Ballinaboola for handler Peter Fahey at Ballinaboola in early February. Also owned by Doyle, the daughter of Milan went onto win a mares’ bumper at Fairyhouse in April.
