Truckers Glory wins Swedish Grand National

Truckers Glory has come a long way since running in Irish Point to Points when winning the Swedish Grand National at Stromsholm over the weekend.

Although only five runners going to post, it didn’t disappoint spectators with all five runners coming home.
Christopher Roberts who took the riding honours was always confident aboard the eight-year-old and the pair eased to the front with a circuit to go. 

The son of Mahler put in a fine display of jumping and a fine jump at the last saw the pair to go on and score by six lengths to see off fellow Irish Point to Pointer Moss Cloud.

Anders Herlin the owner and trainer of the Truckers Glory, purchased the gelding at the Goffs UK May Sale in 2015 for £3,500.

The gelding started his career with Cork handler Batt O’Connell and was placed on two occasions at Boulta and Dromahane.

Truckers Glory also enjoyed a successful stint with Rebecca Curtis when winning a hurdle and a chase respectively before going to Sweden.

Moss Cloud is another who enjoyed a stint in the UK with Donald McCain before joining now trainer Dennis Persson.

Moss Cloud won his point to point maiden at Aghabullogue in 2013 for handler Paul Patrick Moloney.
