2019 Spring Fixture List Unveiled

The 2019 spring fixture list has been revealed and it consists of 79 race meetings from December 30th through to the typical end of season finale on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The Duhallow (F) Kanturk committee will open the spring season on December 30th, returning to that date, having not held a point-to-point over the festive period last year.

That will be followed by a total of seven meetings in January, including Killeagh on January 20th, which will be the only one fixture weekend of the entire season.

The four-year-old maiden season commences in February, where there will be a total of 14 fixtures.

March and April remain the busiest months of the season, with 20 fixtures set to be staged in each month, including the busy Easter period which falls in late April for 2019.

Six meetings will take place during the five day period over Easter, with Inch on Wednesday April 17th maintaining its traditional midweek Easter date, with the two-day Loughanmore fixture on Saturday and Monday, whilst Easter Sunday will host racing at Oldcastle, Quakerstown and Curraghmore.

The Mid-Antrim’s had moved to Loughanmore for their spring fixture in 2018 when their intended fixture at Broughshane had to be cancelled, and they will remain at Loughanmore in 2019, racing on Saturday May 4th.

That is one of 13 race meetings that will take place in May, whilst the season draws to a close with consecutive two-day fixtures at Kinsale and Ballingarry.
