Race 1: Dave Dennehy & Family 5&6yo Mares Maiden
MONTYS MISSION was only beaten by just over a length at Ballindenisk on her pointing debut when taking on geldings in a four-year-old maiden. That was an effort full of promise, and she should be well up to winning a race like this if reproducing that form.
Airgead Suas, a horse with an alternative engagement at Tinahely and later on this card, is the obvious danger following narrow defeats at both Corbeagh House and Tattersalls Farm, whilst Hiupinthesky and Natural Fit are others with chances.
Race 2: Goffs UK January P2P Sale 5yo Geldings Maiden
PRESENTANDCOUNTING was sent off as the favourite for a 2m4f maiden at Punchestown on his debut in February when only beaten by five lengths in that four-year-old maiden. Philip Dempsey has his string in great form at present, and so he has to given real respect on his return to action.
Eclair Des Sablons went close at Lisronagh, but would need to bounce back from what he produced at Lingstown, whilst stable companion, De Hollow Man, alongside Pres, Bintheredonethat, Groovy Rover and Eoulalyo are others for the short list.
Race 3: Brookfield Leisure Centre Open
Sydney Paget kick-started a winning run of eight victories on the bounce when taking this race 12 months ago, but he will have to defend his title without a prep run which he has the benefit of last year. As a result, preference goes to KRUZHLININ who won three on the bounce before Christmas.
Alongside stable companion Ucello Conti, and All Hell Let Loose, the trio are also entered at Tinahely, ensuring the race could open up somewhat. Longhouse Music won her sixth race of the campaign at Mainstown last Sunday and could be turned out quickly, whilst Cloudy Morning is another who has been in good form during the autumn.
Race 4: W & M Kiely Ltd 6yo Mares Maiden
AIRGEAD SUAS has a couple of alternative engagements and she would likely be the one to beat if her connections elect to run her in this following two narrow defeats last month.
Shuil Luas was a real eye-catcher when staying on to finished second against geldings at Corbeagh House, whilst Dromahane faller Natural Fit, Hiupinthesky and Worth The Oscar are others for the short list.
Race 5: All Plast Engineering Ltd Winner Of One
SPRINGFIELD FOX represents a stable that is in red-hot form at present and he was an impressive winner of his maiden at Boulta before Christmas, ensuring he is the obvious choice in this.
Stablemates Be One and Woodbrook Boy won British point-to-points at Barbury last month, with the former landing a point-to-point bumper on what was just his debut and they can offer a challenge to the selection.
Race 6: Dan Donovan & Co Ltd 6yo Geldings Maiden
In a wide open race, it may be worth taking a chance on the returning ROBINS SPIRIT. He has changed yard since finishing second at Dungarvan 12 months ago and will be more competitive with a return back between the flags.
Vital Sign, Detached and Mister Murchan have all shown snippets of form and are others to consider in a tricky heat.
