Arcadio enjoys fourth point winner of the season at Moira

Arcadio's progeny Duty Calls recorded an easy 15-length success at Moira for Luke McGuiness and Ian Arthur in the older geldings maiden. The bay got off the mark at Moira on his seventh start having been placed on four occasions.

The stallion, a son of Monsun, was the Champion three-year-old colt in Germany in 2005 and a multiple Group winner over 8f, 10f and 11f.

He enjoyed a 32% winners to runners ratio (73 runners up to 23/02/17) with 14 individuals gaining racing post ratings over 130 and another 6 individuals with a racing post rating over 120.

On average only 5% of NH horses-in-training reach a rating over 120 while Arcadio is averaging 27% of runners with a racing post rating over 120.

In recent years, Arcadio has also produced point winners that have gone on to perform well on the track.

Hardline was a debut winner of his four-year-old maiden at Punchestown back in February 2016 for Pat Doyle. The seven-year-old bay has since gone on to record seven success on the track for Gordon Elliot and Gigginstown House Stud including Grade 1 victory in the novice chase at limerick on Stephen's Day.

Go Conquer, another son of Arcadio, ran in two point-to-points back in 2013, falling on his first start and unseating his rider on his second run for Donnchadh Doyle.

Donald McCain subsequently purchased the gelding for €140,000 in January 2014. The ten-year-old has since won six races for Nigel Twiston Davies including the Listed Sky Bet Handicap chase in January at Doncaster.
