Goffs will publish the online catalogue for the next Thursday’s Punchestown Sale after the weekend and early inclusions suggest that another select offering will be on hand at Ireland’s premier National Hunt Festival Sale.
Among those due to be offered next week are:
EMTARA (4yo m. by Kayf Tara)
Well related daughter of Kayf Tara who repelled all challengers on debut to win a very competitive 12 runner Maiden on 17 April at Inch.
FIRE AWAY (6yo g. by Getaway)
Winner of a 14-runner Bumper on 17 March at Wexford, having previously finished runner-up in a 13 runner Punchestown bumper in February.
JANUARY JETS (5yo g. by Presenting)
Winner at Ballysteen on second start, having fallen on debut, this son of Presenting showed good speed to quicken nicely clear with one other opponent after the penultimate obstacle.
KID COMMANDO (5yo g. by Robin Des Champs)
Impressive winner of a seven-runner maiden on Easter Day at Quakerstown. A gelding with a high-class pedigree who looks set for a high class career.
PURE BLISS (4yo m. by Mount Nelson)
Highly regarded debut winner on 7 April at Rathcannon, making eye-catching progress from the rear before staying on to win a competitive Maiden.
SELLARBRIDGE (4yo g. by Well Chosen)
Stayed on impressively in his only start to date to win a 4-y-o Bumper at Punchestown.
SOUTHERN GIRL (5yo m. by Getaway)
Won a 12 runner Maiden on her second start at Quakerstown, by such a margin that she was able to ease up before the last.
THE BIG BREAKAWAY (4yo g. by Getaway)
An Easter Day winner at Quakerstown, this imposing son of Getaway looks one of the four-year-old stars of the season.
UNBREAKABLE BOND (4yo g. by Shirocco)
A really encouraging introduction when runner-up on debut at Curraghmore, leading until close home and with a significant distance back to the third.
WRITTENINTHESAND (5yo g. by Milan)
Progressed from being placed on debut to winning on Easter Day at Curraghmore. Looks a smart staying type for the racecourse next season.
It has been a strong season for Punchestown graduates, headed by Grade 1 winner Honeysuckle, while the winners of the Welsh and Scottish Grand Nationals, Elegant Escape and Takingrisks, were also bought at this sale.
The sale will take place in the winners enclosure after the last race on Thursday 2nd May. Horses will be available to inspect at Goffs on Thursday morning and at Punchestown that afternoon. The online catalogue will be available on Monday at www.goffs.com.
