Video Archives | Maralin May 2002

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2002 season.

The next meeting to be added to our video archive section is the Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester Hunt point-to-point at Maralin.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at Maralin, the confined hunt race was won in good fashion by Ebony Reef in the hands of Mark O’Hare.

Inch Abbey
ran out an impressive winner of the winners of two contest when coming home in front by 20-lengths under Liam Lennon.

The ITBA Mares Final saw Priests Bridge come home in front under Aaron Stronge.  The pair made most of the running and kept on well from the last to deny Tall Yarn by three lengths.

The progressive Bellaney Lad added another victory to her tally when winning the open lightweight under Leo Gracey.  The daughter of Un Desperado won seven races between the flags and two hunter chases.

Liam Lennon was in the winners enclosure when claiming the five-year-old geldings maiden aboard Ballyrobert. It was a double on the day for Lennon which put him four winners ahead for the 2002 Northern Title.

Gordon Elliott also enjoyed a successful afternoon when winning both divisions of the six and seven-year-old maiden. Supreme Fashion provided Elliott with his first winner of the day when running out a six-length victory in division one.

Division two of the six and seven-year-old maiden saw Harry Husyan come home by an impressive 25 lengths under Meath rider Gordon Elliott.
