Video Archives | The Pigeons 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The next fixture to be added to the video archive section is the South Westmeath hunts fixture at The Pigeons.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race The Pigeons point-to-point was won by Gossip Column in the hands of Jim Keeling. The son of Leading Counsel responded well to pressure when getting up close home to deny Double Scene and Mark O’Hare.

Saynothing
and Claire MacMahon were impressive winners of the five and six-year-old maiden when coming in front by 15-lengths.

More Class
provided JD Moore with his first winner of the afternoon when staying on well in the closing stages to land the five-year-old and upwards maiden.

The five-year-old and upwards mares maiden saw Crafty Rule and G R Kenny come home in front by 10-lengths.

Gordon Elliott and Kilquire landed the confined Hunt Race in good style when running out an easy victory over Festive Project.

Just Jolly provided JD Moore with his second winner of the afternoon when running out a two length victory of the winners of one contest.

Donabate native Jim Keeling registered a double on the day when winning the Open Lightweight aboard Johann Sebastian.

JD Moore completed his treble when winning the seven-year-old and upwards maiden aboard Winston Murphy.

The concluding division of the seven-year-old and upwards maiden was won in good style by Glenalla Sam in the hands of Peter Buchanan.
