Video Archives | Loughbrickland Oct 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The County Down Staghounds point-to-point fixture at Loughbrickland is the next meeting to feature in the video archives section.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

It was a good afternoon at the County Down Staghounds track for Gordon Elliott who completed a treble on the day.

Like A Caterpillar
provided the Meath man with his first winner of the afternoon when winning the opening five-year-old and upwards mares maiden.

Just Riva ran out an impressive winner of the four and five-year-old when coming home in front by 12-lengths in the hands of Patrick Harty.

Elliott registered his second winner aboard Super Gale after the pair ran out a comfortable 12-length victory in the winners of two contest.

The open lightweight went the way of Kilbride Lad and Brian Hamilton, the pair stayed on gamely for a comprehensive victory over Huncheon Paddy.

Bullrush supplied Gordon Elliott with third winner of the afternoon when winning the six-year-old and upwards geldings maiden.  This winner was Gordon Elliotts 99th point-to-point winner.

The concluding race of the day, the winners of one for novice riders was won by Glenorney with Noel McParlan in the saddle. The pair kept on well from the final fence to register a five-length victory over Bonnybridge and Russell Ferris.
