Video Archives | Templemore 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The Golden Vale Foxhounds point-to-point fixture at Templemore is the next meeting to feature in the video archives section.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at the Gold Vale Foxhounds point-to-point at Templemore, the four-year-old mares maiden was won by On The Outside and Paul Cashman. The third placed horse Dedrunknmunky is the dam of the De Rasher Counter, winner of the Grade Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at Newbury. (Some great commentatary!!!)

The five-year-old and upwards mares maiden saw an impressive winner in Phardante Sky.  The daughter of Phardante came home strongly under David Porter to score by 15-lengths.

Division two of the five-year-old and upwards maiden was won by Chilled Sweet and Derek O’Connor.

Wexford rider Robbie Moran was on the scoresheet when landing the open lightweight aboard Boy’s Hurrah
The pair had to battle hard to see off Mountpil Lad and John Thomas McNamara.

Richie Harding was in the winners enclosure when winning the four and five-year-old geldings maiden aboard Cratloe Castle.

Robbie Moran registered a double on the day when winning the winners of two contest aboard Fundamentalist. Fundamentalist went to win the 2004 Royal & Sun Alliance Grade 1 Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival for Nigel Twiston-Davies and Carl Llewellyn.

The concluding race of the day the six-year-old and upwards geldings maiden was won by Roger Quinlan and Barhalevision.  The pair stayed on well in the closing stages to register a four length victory over Streamsforth Lad and Simon McGonagle.

Roger Quinlan showed some great horsemanship when finishing the race with only one rein.
