Closing date for Tetratema & P2P Bumper at Gowran Park

Entries for the Tetratema Cup hunters chase and point-to-point bumper at Gowran Park will close on Monday 8th March at 12 noon. 

The meeting itself with take on Friday 12th March, with declarations to be made by 10am Wednesday 10th March. 

Please see below race conditions:

The BoyleSports Tetratema Cup Hunters Steeplechase of €13,500 (Generously sponsored by BoyleSports) 

Winner will receive €8,100 (Penalty Value: €7,965) Second will receive €2,700 Third will receive €1,350 Fourth will receive €675 Fifth will receive €405 Sixth will receive €270 

A steeplechase for † Certified Hunters five years old and upwards that have between 7th October, 2017 and 7th March, 2021 been placed either first, second, third or fourth in a Point-to-Point Steeplechase in Ireland or Great Britain or in a Certified Hunters Steeplechase in Ireland or Great Britain and that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing since 1st March, 2020 other than a Certified Hunters Steeplechase or a Farmers Race

Riders: Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. 

A Hunters Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2020/2021 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 7th March, 2021 or the horse will not be qualified to start. 

In the case of horses from Great Britain, Hunters (Master of Hounds) Certificates must have been duly registered at the Racing Calendar Office, Wellingborough. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have modified the Rules to permit horses for which Master of Hounds Certificates have been registered with the Jockey Club and which are eligible to run in Hunters Steeplechases in Great Britain to run in this race. However, horses with a Master of Hounds Certificate that have run in any race other than a Hunters' Steeplechase since 1st November, 2020 are excluded. The Cup to be held by the owner of the winner who must give a guarantee (in writing) for the safe keeping and return of the Cup to the Secretary on or before 28th February, 2022 

 

The 'Doc's Bumper' Point-To-Point Flat Race of €10,000 

Winner will receive €6,000 (Penalty Value: €5,900) Second will receive €2,000 Third will receive €1,000 Fourth will receive €500 Fifth will receive €300 Sixth will receive €200 

An I.N.H. flat race for four, five, six and seven years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing and which at entry have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Point to Point Steeplechase in Ireland since 5th October, 2019

Riders: Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. 

All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2020/2021 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 7th March or the horse will not be qualified to start. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2020/2021 season. HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-to-Point steeplechase since 5th October, 2019 (ii) In the event of Paragraph (i) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
