Autumn Novice Rider Series

The Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee (INHSC) announced plans of a new Autumn Novice Rider Series in the INHSC Newsletter.

The INHSC sponsored initiative will have a total of 16 races during the Autumn point-to-point season. The races will be confined to Novice Riders and there will be points awarded to those riders finishing in the first four home.

The rider who accumulates the highest number of points at the end of the Autumn schedule will receive a voucher of €700, the second will receive a €200 voucher and the rider finishing in third will receive a €100 voucher.

The series will also give those more in-experienced riders a chance to showcase their abilities. To further enhance the novice riders races, there will be a new allowance of 5lbs for those riders who have ridden no more than five winners.

The Novice Riders race are the same as previous seasons, they are open to those riders who have not ridden more than fifteen winners.

Wexford (F) 14th November - Maiden for 6yo Geldings
Duhallow (F) Kildorrery 21st November – Maiden for 5yo Adjacent
Golden Vale (F) 21st November - Open Lightweight
Stonehall (H) 28th November - Maiden for 6yo Geldings
Kilmoganny (F) 5th December - Maiden for 6yo Geldings

Closing date for Punchestown Hunter Chases

Entries for the Bishopscourt Cup close on Thursday 25th April at 12 noon and entries for the Ladies Cup and the Champion Hunters Chase close on Monday 29th April.
