Video Archives |Naas 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The next fixture to be added to the video archive section is the South County Dublin hunts fixture at Naas Racecourse.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at the South County Dublin Hunts point-to-point fixture at Naas Racecourse was by Supreme Emmett in the hands of Denis Cullen.

Eskaddle and Paul Cashman were impressive winners of the opening division of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden.

Division two of the five and six-year-old geldings maiden was won by Never Awol and Roger Loughran.

JD Moore won the open lightweight aboard Church Place when coming in front by five lengths.

Red Setter and J P Fortune landed the seven and eight-year-old geldings maiden.  The pair stayed on gamely in closing stages to deny El Tambo by three lengths. Red Setter went on to win a ladies cup under Andrew Kinirons.

Roger Loughran registered a double on the day when guiding Euro Call to victory in the opening division of the five and six-year-old mares maiden.

Division two of the five and six-year-old mares maiden was in good style by Rose’s Smile in the hands of Roger Quinlan.

The concluding confined maiden provided spectators with a thrilling finish with Sir Hawthorn just holding on by a head in the hands of James O’Haire.
