TRACK GUIDE
A right-handed course of just under a mile around, the runners begin at Dawstown alongside what is the final fence and race up in front of the judge before jumping fence number one at the end of the home straight.
The right-handed bend that takes them out of the home straight, begins the downhill run around what is a very long, gently curving section of the course which eventually ends with the runners arriving in the back straight. There is just one fence to be jumped midway along the back straight, with a slight incline beginning towards the end of this straight.
The climb continues as they turn out of the back straight and take the cross fence, which is fence number three, on the run to the home straight. Fence four, the first of three fences in the home straight, comes up quickly after taking the home bend, and there is gentle pull all the way up the home straight.
Missed Approach, who won the 2018 Kim Muir Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, recorded his first success as a four-year-old at Dawstown, whilst 2015 Galway Plate victor, Shanahans Turn, is another to have recorded his maiden victory at the course.

Ground conditions tend to be good at Dawstown and it is quite a fast track. You need a horse that travels and jumps because the fences tend to come up quickly.
It is a fair track and would be best suited to horses that can travel up with the pace. You can also get some close finishes around here due to the nature of the track.
