Trained locally by her rider's stepfather Daniel O'Connell Jnr and owned by the Galtee Mountain Boys Syndicate, Bansha Blue initially mounted her challenge from three out and the five-year-old daughter of Blue Bresil drew clear approaching the final fence to score by a resounding 17 lengths at the finish. The Enda Bolger-trained Keep On Dreaming made the breakthrough in the concluding older maiden under a fine front-running ride from Luke Kelleher. Setting a brisk early gallop, the six-year-old son of Westerner put the nine-runner field to the sword and, as each rival succumbed to the leader's pace, he eventually came home alone when his sole remaining challenger, Golden Photo, pulled up before the final fence. The winning handler revealed that a tilt at the Ladies Cup is the winner's long-term target.
