From Tallaght in Dublin, Lee Shanahan is a graduate of the Trainee Jockey course at the RACE Academy and it was on one of their horses, Finest Hour, that he made his point-to-point debut in an older maiden at Turtulla in November 2019 having previously contested the Up For The Yard challenge at Punchestown in 2018, representing trainer Ross O'Sullivan. Lee registered his first success when steering Brilliant Corners to victory for handler Shane Donohoe at Oldcastle in April 2023, with a first victory on the track coming a year later thanks to O'Sullivan's Ryehill in a hunter chase at Cork in April 2024.

Cheltenham in sight for Ryehill after Naas victory

The eight-year-old continued his upward trajectory with a 12-length success in the hands of Tallaght rider Lee Shanahan.
