From Farmer`s Bridge, Tralee, Ross Sugrue made his point-to-point debut in a Novice Riders Open at Dromahane aboard the Thomas O`Connor handled Old Time Melody in December 2018. That followed four months after he had won the Abbeyfeale Derby, one of the notable races on the pony racing circuit where he had honed his craft on the southern circuit. Ross rode his first point-to-point winner in February 2023 when partnering the Philip Rothwell trained Less Said the Better to victory in Ballinaboola. Rothwell also supplied him with a first track success courtesy of Galon De Vauzelle's victory in a QR Handicap Chase at Listowel in September 2024.
