A graduate of the pony racing circuit, Cal Shine made the best possible start to his point-to-point career, as just a week after receiving his license and on his very first ride, Shine got off the mark when recording his first winner aboard All On Blue for Louis Archdeacon at Kildorrery in February 2017. That good start continued finishing in the first three placings in eight of his first 10-rides.
