Closing date for Cork on Easter Monday

The Cork Easter Monday meeting which features three hunter chases and two bumpers will take place on Monday 6th April.  Entries for these races will close on Wednesday 1st April.

Declarations to run must be made by 10am on Saturday 4th April.

However, horses with a Hunters Certificate that have run in any race other than a Hunters Steeplechase since 1st December, 2025 are excluded. 

A person who is registered as a current Keeper with the British Horseracing Authority may enter and run a horse in this race.

An I.N.H. flat race for four, five and six years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing (excluding Academy Hurdles and 3-y-o Junior N.H. Hurdles) and that have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a maiden Point-To-Point Steeplechase since 4th October, 2025

The IHRB have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season. 

HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-To-Point steeplechase since 4th October, 2025. (ii) The number of horses declared will be then reduced by balloting those horses that have not won more than one Point-To-Point steeplechase since 4th October, 2025. (iii) In the event of Paragraphs (i) and (ii) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
