For Novice Riders who, at the start of the day, have not ridden more than ten winners under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing, including Point to Point Steeplechases.

Track recruit HAWK EYE DOWN was unable to figure in ten starts under rules, however since switching to the pointing fields he has taken a notable step forward, as he was holding every chance when coming down at the final fence in a similar contest at Mainstown, before chasing home the wide-margin winner Kalanisi Express at Boulta on New Years Day. This could be an ideal opportunity for him to get off the mark. The locally trained Eddies Miracle finished fourth behind a subsequent winner at Killeagh last month, and he has been running in very competitive races of late which would see him hold chances, alongside the mare Jamies Charm who was very unlucky to come down at the last at Lisronagh before Christmas when holding leading claims.
