The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have modified the Rules to permit horses for which Master of Hounds Certificates have been registered with the Jockey Club and which are eligible to run in Hunters Steeplechases in Great Britain to run in this race. However, horses with a Master of Hounds Certificate that have run in any race other than a Hunters' Steeplechase since 1st November, 2021 are excluded.

The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2021/2022 season.
HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-To-Point steeplechase since 25th September, 2021. (ii) The number of horses declared will be then reduced by balloting those horses that have not won more than one Point-To-Point steeplechase since 25th September, 2021. (iii) In the event of Paragraphs (i) and (ii) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
