Irish point graduates set for day two of Cheltenham

Irish point graduates hold some strong chances on day two of the Cheltenham Festival.

Battleoverdoyen, Brewinupastorm and Sam's Profile will take their chance in the Grade 1 Ballymore novices' hurdle.

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned Battle Over Doyen enjoyed success on his last start at Naas in January. The bay gelding won his debut four-year-old maiden for Jerry Cosgrave back in April 2017. Gordon Elliot subsequently purchased Battle Over Doyen for £235,000.

Sams Profile finished behind Battle Over Doyen at Naas in January for Mouse Morris. The gelding won his four-year-old debut at Cragmore last February.

Brewinupastorm has won two of his five starts on the track for Olly Murphy to date but fell on his last outing at Cheltenham in January. The gelding won his debut point at Quakerstown for Timmy Hyde and went on to make £250,000 at the Cheltenham sales in April 2017.

On the Blind Side stands a good chance in the RSA novices' chase off of the back of a win at Kempton in January for Nicky Henderson. The gelding won his debut as a five-year-old at Kilfeacle back in January 2017. Highflyer Bloodstock then purchased the son of Stowaway for £205,000.

Two Irish point graduates will run in the Grade 1 Betway Queen Mother Champion. The Pat Fahy-trained Castlegrace Paddy and the Tom George-trained Gods Own. Both of these geldings finished second on their debut point starts.

The Glenfarcle Cross Country Race will showcase four Irish point graduate, Ballycasey, Fact Of The Matter, Jarob and Josie's Orders.

Josie's Orders is the markets preferred choice out of the four Irish point graduates. The Enda Bolger-trained gelding won last time out in the cross country race at Punchestown in February. The son of Milan won his four-year-old debut at Dromahane back in April 2012.
