Competitive fields declared for the Tipperary`s point-to-point evening

Tipperary’s annual point-to-point evening takes place on Thursday evening, with a Novice Hunters Chase and two point-to-point bumpers set to take place.

A field of 12 have been declared for the 2m 7f Glenview And Rathbarry Stud Novice Hunters Chase, which is restricted to horses that have not won a point-to-point or hunters chase before October 2018.

Recent Cork hunters chase winner, Casey Jem heads the field under Luke Murphy having also won twice between-the-flags this season, however Rewritetherules also arrives into the contest on the back of a hunters chase win, having won around Down Royal earlier in the week for Shark Hanlon and Tom Hamilton.

Trumps Ace brings placed hunters chase form to the table while Clonguile Way, Krisquin, Panthers Creek, Mistage Adage, Bright Rhett and Vinnies Nephue have all tasted recent maiden success in the point-to-point sphere.

The p2p.ie - The Irish Point To Point Website Mares p2p bumper will see 12 runners face the starter. This looks a competitive affair on paper, with a number of multiple winners’ declared.

Shark Hanlon’s Dime A Dozen won the Gain Mares’ Final back in March before finishing a fine third in a similar bumper at Cork last month. Tom Hamilton retains the mount aboard the daughter of Jeremy.

The Colin Bowe – trained Fort Worth Texas has won three of her last four starts for owner Leo McArdle and is sure to play a big role here under Rob James.

Johnny Hurley is set to take the mount on the dual winner Monty’s Mission, although the daughter of Arctic Cosmos bids to bounce back to form here having finished eighth on her last start in a similar contest at Cork.

The likes of Tokyo Getaway, Nell’s Well, Costly Diamond and Bitofalright are all last time out maiden winners who are still somewhat unexposed.

The concluding p2p.ie - The Irish Point To Point Website geldings’ bumper also has 12 horses declared in what looks an open contest.

Robert Tyner and Derek O’Connor team up with Carrigmoorna Pine, who having won an older maiden in impressive fashion, finished a pleasing fourth on his rules debut at Cork in a similar event.

Banner Rebel ran out a comprehensive winner of a four-year-old maiden back in December and reappears here under Johnny Barry following a break for handler Kieran Purcell.

Doyen Dancer is another recent maiden winner, along with Groody Hill and Top Man who will all be interesting here.
