Weekend Preview | Rathcannon 24th November

Race 1 - Tattersalls Cheltenham 4yo Maiden

RIDE THE STORM
came up against two more experienced types when he made his debut earlier this month and was the first of the newcomers to finish. That initial effort should leave him as one of the leading contenders for this. The Colin Bowe pairing of Getmegold and Erne River both also made the frame on their debuts. The latter caught the eye when coming from off the pace to finish third at Tinahely just last Sunday, whilst the Dare To Begin and Ocean Drifter are others for the shortlist.

Race 2 - Dave Clarkes Bar 5yo Geldings Maiden

BEATTHEBULLET
holds a number of entries this weekend as he looks to gain some compensation for his late departure at Knockmullen House recently, and on paper this would look the most straight forward for him. Wouldnt You Agree was second at Knockinroe on his debut, as was Hill Of Hope.

Race 3 - Tim McAuliffe Tarmacadam 5yo+ Mares Maiden

HONEST TO GOODNESS
has been a very consistent individual and she would be very deserving of a maiden success in this. Gold Creek and Ulterior Motives are others that have made the frame in the past and are sure to be contenders once again, whilst Corrib Rose may be able to improve upon her Dromahane debut.

Race 4 - Bruff Building Supplies Winner Of Two

There are no less than seven last time out winners in this contest, with Lisronagh winner CROSSLING LINES chief among them, having won on debut by a wide margin earlier this month. Aloneamongmillions does not have the benefit of recent race fitness, having not been seen since he won his maiden back in March at Ballyragget, however he was well-backed and beat three subsequent winners in the process ensuring it is form to note, as too is Roundstone, who has changed yards since winning his maiden by a wide margin two years ago.

Race 5 - Maurice Power Solicitors Mares Open (Nov Rdrs)

LONGHOUSE MUSIC
is also entered at Kirkistown this weekend, but this would look a much straight forward task for her, given that she easily dismissed For Rita when they met two weeks ago at Lisronagh. Sliabh Mhuire Lass would need to step up from her Cork effort last Sunday, whilst Touchy is another set for a quick re-appearance, but she ran well in a competitive Tinahely contest and has place claims.

Race 6 - Paul Leonard Construction 6yo+ Maiden

ON CALL returns to point-to-points with a mark of 111 over hurdles which should see him have little trouble winning an older maiden, having previously finished second in this sphere as a four-year-old. He has the standout form ahead of his stable debut. Acceptable Risk would look the big danger as he returned from a two year absence to finish second behind a smart looking sort for the age group at Lisronagh, Tippinawaynow, Kildrum, Baron Du Plessis and The Bonny Boy are others that cannot be dismissed.
