"We thought this fella would win first time out in Dromahane, but he's a nice horse going forward. He will stay in training with me now as I have a new owner for him and is one to look forward to," said Doyle.

John Gleeson teamed up with Derek O’Connor to take the Sandra Russell five-year-old and upwards confined maiden.

"I'm delighted for the two lads that own her as it's their first winner. Derek gave her a great ride and we are delighted to have him on board. She's always shown us plenty in schooling hurdles, so we may go onto the track with her now," said Gleeson.

Third to Nada to Prada three weeks ago in Ballindenisk, Annie Day went two places better to take the Gain Equine Nutrition five-year-old and upwards mares’ maiden by what was a facile 12 lengths over the Eugene O’Sullivan-trained New Money.

"This lady is well able to gallop and jump. She probably hasn't enjoyed the bad ground she's been running on and we feel she'll improve a tonne when she gets a bit of ground,” said Walsh.

Lite Duties has been a model of consistency since switching to the point-to-point sphere. A winner just two weeks ago in Aghabullogue, the Sam Curling-trained 11-year-old took the Hinchy’s Garage open by two-and-a-half lengths over Reigning Supreme.

"Pa felt there was plenty left in the tank at the finish. It was a really good, staying performance. I'll chat to the owners now and see would they like to go there (Cheltenham)," said Curling.

The Pegus Equine Nutrition older geldings’ maiden went the way of the James Kiernan-trained Time Leader, who settled for the minor placings on his two most recent starts.

Owned by Kiernan’s wife Brigid, and ridden by Tommy Geoghegan, the son of Scorpion secured a six-length victory over the only other finisher, Choctaw Brave.

"He's been very consistent since he came back into training this year. He has a lovely temperament too. Tommy knows him well as he rides him out each day, so I'm delighted for him also," said Kiernan.
