Weekend Preview | Bandon 07th March 2020

Race 1 - Tattersalls Ireland 5yo Geldings Maiden

PAY THE PIPER finished second to The New McDonald when most recently seen at Nenagh, beaten just a length-and-a-half on that occasion. A reproduction of that effort should see him go one spot better for his handler Colin Bowe. The most obvious dangers look to be the Donnchadh Doyle-trained Straight Swap and the Turlough O Connor-trained Cloudy Tuesday, whilst any market moves on any of the newcomers may be worth following.

Race 2 - Bandon Motors & Bandon Co-op 5yo Adjacent Maiden

CAILIN DEARG certainly brings the best form to the race, having been placed on her two previous starts at Ballindenisk and Carrigarostig. On that evidence, this could be the perfect opportunity for her to make it to the winners enclosure. The form of her Ballindenisk effort has stood up well since, with two horses placed since that finished behind her on that occasion.

Race 3 - Barryroe Co-op & Chris McCarthy Greenbuild Ltd Open- Novice Riders

BANDON BRIDGE had been a consistent sort prior to his recent effort at Knockanard, where he pulled up behind Oscar Contender. A return to his previous form should see the Jimmy Mangan-trained gelding as the one to beat on this occasion. His stable companion, Montys Meadow, along with Drawn N Drank and Three Wise Men look the most likely dangers, and any market moves should be closely followed.

Race 4 - Springmount Stud & AIB Bank 6yo Geldings Maiden

CHOCTAW BRAVE has been a model of consistency of late, and this could be a perfect opportunity for him to open his account, following two decent placed efforts of late at Kilfeacle and Knockmullen House. Coastal Capers and Baron Du Plessis have both had some creditable runs to their names of late, and they look the most likely threats to Bernie Murphy-trained selection.

Race 5 - Glenview.ie 5yo Mares Maiden

CAILIN DEARG gets the nod on this occasion for the Padraig Butler team following her two decent placed efforts of late at Ballindenisk and Carrigarostig. No Fame No Game may well be the biggest threat for the in-form handler Gerard Kelleher, whilst others to note are Peggy Gordon and Trees Valley.

Race 6 - Kevin OLeary & McLauglins Medical Hall, Bandon Winner Of One

ASKTHEBOSSLADY bids to build on her December success at Borris House where she took the four-year-old mares maiden by a comfortable six lengths, and she may well be the one to beat in this winners contest. Natural Fit and Not Fou Sale look the most obvious dangers, and as always, the market should prove the best guide for them.
