Weekend Preview | Tyrella 07th March 2020

Race 1 - Dennison Commercials 4yo Maiden – Auction

BOLD GETAWAY put up a big performance on his debut at Punchestown last month, as although looking held by the eventual winner when coming down at the last, he had seemed destined to finish a credible second.

With this race confined to horses bought for E25,000 or less, it should be an easier assignment. Both Grand Voyage and Big Bad Buzz would need to step up from their respective debuts, which may leave the newcomers as the more like threats.

Race 2 - Bluegrass & Dengie 5&6yo Mares Maiden

A wide-open looking race where the tentative selection goes to JIGGY WITH IT on account of finishing third at Ballingarry when a short-priced favourite. Disappointing since on her stable debut, this could be a good opportunity for her.

Rock On Friday was still in contention when coming down around here in January and is the danger, with Mullaghmore Wave capable of getting closer if sharpening up her jumping following her debut fifth here in a race that has already produced two subsequent winners.

Race 3 - Albert Bartlett 5&6yo Geldings Maiden

Narrowly denied in a four-year-old maiden at Mainstown in early December, HERE WE HAVE IT again went close when chasing home Minella Escape at Bellharbour in a decent effort last month. He would look a deserving winner of this. Blame The Game would look the obvious danger, as the full-brother to Spiritofthegames, who started off his career for the same connections, offered plenty of promise when fourth at Ballycrytal in January.

His stable companion Pasvolsky was not far behind him at the Wexford venue, and has proven himself in the past when a close third at Necarne last May, whilst Fully Authorised is another that could get involved having exited at the last in his latest outings.

Race 4 - Robert McCoubrey Memorial Winner Of Three

The ten-year-old LIKE A DEMON got the better of the potentially re-opposing Well Bill in a winner-of-two race around here in January, and whilst he could not follow up when quickly turned out a week later in Knockmullen House, they were significantly different conditions.

The ground here should see him return to his best and confirm that form line with Well Bill. Evalabrune Dor got off the mark on his first start for the Gordon Elliott yard at Punchestown last month and may be open to further improvement.

Race 5 - Stephen Magee & William McDowell Adjacent Hunt Winners Race (4yo Mdns Excl)

DENTO DES OBEAUX put up a big performance when he ran out a wide margin winner at Kirkistown last month. If he was to produce that calibre of a performance here once again, he could prove hard to reel in.

The mare Double Smart came up against a smart sort at the same Kirkistown fixture, where she emerged with plenty of credit, and although she struggled when last taking on geldings in winners company at Tattersalls Farm before Christmas, this would look to be an easier task.

Race 6 - INHS Committee 6yo Maiden (Nov Rdrs)

Things have not gone to plan for TARDREE of late, but this could be an opportunity for him to put a couple of non-completions behind him and follow up on the promise that had had shown when placed in two of his opening three starts of the current season.

Gigiplan Two Seven is back between the flags following a spell under rules where he did manage to finish second in a Punchestown maiden hurdle at a big price when with Martin Brassil. A mark of 94 over hurdles would certainly bring him into the reckoning for what could be his first start for new connections. Of the others, William Tyndale finished fourth in more testing conditions at Armagh and could hold place claims.
