Er Dancer brings up win number three of the season

Er Dancer translated his recent winning form from between the flags to the Hunter Chase division as he battled well in the home straight to win the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee Supporting Point-to-Points Maiden Hunter Chase.

The subject of some each-way support before the off, the six-year-old who had won at both Necarne and Loughrea already this term before meeting with defeat behind High Stakes at Damma House when with Donnchadh Doyle, it was for the Sean Doyle yard that Er Dancer was recording his first success under rules.

Ridden patiently by Rob James who had the benefit of a very helpful seven-pound claim, the French-bred was having to be ridden along after a slight error at the third-last fence, and he responded very gamely to overhaul Wrong Direction after he made a mistake at the penultimate obstacle.

Although Wrong Direction did rally on the run-in, Er Dancer seemed to have a lot in the tank as he went on to win by four lengths, with Templebredin a further nine lengths back in third and the recent Dromahane scorer First Touch back in fourth.
