73 fixtures announced for spring 2024 fixture list

Dromahane will stage the first of what will be 73 point-to-point fixtures in the spring 2024 calendar which will run across 41 days of racing culminating in a double-header at Ballingarry and Inchydoney on Sunday, May 26th.
 
Among the changes, Punchestown moves to a Saturday in late February and will race alongside Farmacaffley on Saturday, February 24th.
 
With the Easter weekend falling early in 2024, Ballyknock take place on Wednesday March 27th, and Monksgrange moves onto Easter Sunday, March 31st, as Castletown-Geoghegan and Oldcastle, two fixtures in the East that have raced on Easter Sunday in the past, remain in the month of April on Sunday, April 14th and Sunday, April 21st respectively.
 
The Island hunt have a new course for their spring fixture which moves to a Saturday in 2024. They will unveil Peppardscastle near Kilmuckridge on Saturday, April 13th.
 
There is only one Sunday left with four fixtures, that is Sunday, April 28th when there will be racing at Monksgrange, Dromahane, Fairyhouse and Ballysteen. 
 
The two-day Necarne fixture returns in May on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th, with Grennan an absentee from the month’s programme, as the season again concludes with the two-day Ballingarry fixture and one-day Inchydoney fixture across the final weekend of May.
 
Martin O'Donnell, Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee chairperson said: “The Directors of the INHSC are pleased to publish the spring 2024 fixture list, which contains 73 fixtures on 41 individual days, across 22 counties throughout the country.”
