A number of point-to-pointers feature in the catalogue for the ThoroughBid December Sale, which takes place on Thursday, December 18th.
The point-to-point section of the catalogue is headed by Idaho Expresso (Lot 20), a winning maiden Irish pointer on her most recent start and one who is eligible for the £5,000 Point2Rules bonus.
She is joined by Elbow Lane (Lot 30), an Irish four-year-old who finished third on his only appearance between the flags and is also eligible for the bonus, adding further appeal for purchasers.
Henry de Bromhead’s classy dual-purpose performer Gentleman Joe (Lot 24) headlines a competitive and diverse catalogue.
Trained by Henry de Bromhead, Gentleman Joe is a classy seven-year-old who has already proven his versatility with wins both over hurdles and on the Flat. He is currently rated 121 over hurdles and 91 on the Flat, making him an attractive proposition for a range of potential buyers and future racing programmes.
Henry de Bromhead said: “Gentleman Joe is a lovely, straightforward type who’s been very easy to train and does everything we’ve asked of him. He’s a big, scopey horse with a great attitude, and his form on both the Flat and over obstacles will give his new owners plenty of options going forward.
“Whatever route they decide to take with him, he should give them a lot of enjoyment, as he’s an honest, straightforward horse who turns up every day and gives his best.”
French recruits add pedigree depth
There is also a pair of well-bred French recruits in the December Sale in the shape of Guido D'Oneix (Lot 18) and Monark Wood (Lot 28), both three-year-old French hurdlers with strong pedigrees.
Monark Wood stands out in particular as a half-brother to two exciting novice hurdlers: Sticktotheplan, Olly Murphy’s winner of October’s Grade 2 Persian War Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow, and Full Of Life, a Grade 3 Novice Hurdle winner for Henry de Bromhead at Down Royal.
Noelies Dream a progressive two-year-old winner
With over 35 lots offered, the December Sale looks set to be a busy one, featuring a wide variety of horses, including Noelies Dream (Lot 25) who arrives at the sale off the back of a recent all-weather success at Newcastle last month. The exciting two-year-old was successful on just his second start in a handicap and looks to have plenty of improvement still to come as he continues his racing career.
James Richardson, CEO at ThoroughBid, commented: “We’re really pleased with the depth and variety of the catalogue for our December Sale. With over 35 lots on offer, there’s something to suit a wide range of buyers, from proven dual-purpose performers like Gentleman Joe, to exciting young prospects from the Point-to-Point field eligible for our £5,000 Point2Rules bonus.
“The inclusion of quality French recruits such as Guido D'Oneix and Monark Wood, alongside recent winners like 2 year old Noelies Dream, underlines the strength of this sale. We’re looking forward to another busy day of online bidding on the 18th and hope the catalogue offers plenty of opportunities for both new and existing ThoroughBid users.”
