Weekend Preview | Moira

Race 1: Dennison Commercials 4yo Maiden

Donnchadh Doyle took the opening race on the Toomebridge card last Saturday, and he could well do the same here seven days later, as his ONTHEFRONTFOOT and Bucks Bin both offered real promise in the spring and will be expected to translate that into big runs here. Highate Hill travelled very well for a long way at Oldcastle and is sure to be a danger, as too would be Overnightsensation if bouncing back from the below per performance he produced at Bartlemy.

Race 2: Northern Excavators Ltd 5&6yo Mares Maiden

A second trip from Tipperary to the northern region in the space of a week could be rewarded for THE CRAFTY TOUCH, after she had to settle for second at Toomebridge last week after making a mistake at a crucial point in the race. This is a wide open race where she would seem to sit in pole position. Kalamansi Cooler got into the placings at Tinahely, whilst Attacotti may be able to step-up from her debut run at Kinsale.

 Race 3: Winner Of One

The Noel Kelly team were in red hot form at Toomebridge last week, and two of his three winners on that card, Oscar Light and Decor Irlandais , are among the entries for this, with the latter having won with any amount in hand, suggesting he could quickly double up here. The clear danger is the Kieran Purcell-trained Freezing Oscar who was a comfortable winner of his maiden at Ballingarry in June, having been running in some competitive races prior to that.

Race 4: Wilson Auctions 5yo Geldings Maiden

REALLYRADICAL was very unlucky not to make a winning debut at Tinahely in February, where an awkward leap at the last saw him loose the advantage. He was unable to capitalise when reappearing at Lingstown two weeks later, but will be returning a fresh horse here and has big claims in a race like this. No Hidden Charges has plenty of experience and would be a danger on what he had shown until an unlucky final fence departure at Courtown.

 Race 5: John McGovern Open

VINNIE LUCK has the advantage of having ran at Castletown-Geoghegan last Sunday and that should really stand to him here having run well to chase home Ourmanmassini on his seasonal reappearance. He also got the measure of Bridgets Pet when the pair met at Necarne in May. His stable companion Eddies Miracle is now an eight-time winner and will surely go close, whilst Longhouse Music ended last season among the winners when coming home in front at Loughanmore.

Race 6: 6yo Maiden (Novice Riders)

PEGASE AMOUR went close at Toomebridge last Saturday on what was his point-to-point debut, and that should leave him as the one to beat in this. There are also a number of track recruits among the potential lineup including Captain Commander and Princess Harriet.
