Longhouse Music joins Kruzhlinin on seven-winner mark

Longhouse Music joined Kruzlinin at the top of the champion pointer leader board following her win in the mares open at Courtown on Sunday.

The daughter of Gamut's success on Sunday marked her seventh win of the season for Sam Curling and John Duggan, in a remarkable season which has seen her suffer just one defeat, that coming at Dungarvan in January.

The mare's owner John Duggan spoke to us after her win on Sunday and said: "She is the type of mare that you could run every week, it doesn’t take a bother out of her. She had a bit of a break earlier in the spring, so that freshened her up."

"We will stay going down this road now, as she is joint now with Kruzhlinin to be Champion Pointer."

Kruzhlinin, who owned by Camilla Sharples and trained by Gordon Elliot, is unbeaten in point-to-points this season having won seven starts on the trot, but he could only manage eighth in the Aintree Foxhunters last week, and will have to battle it out with Longhouse Music until the end of the season at Ballingarry in June if he is to be crowned as the champion point-to-point horse of 2019.
