Five handlers awarded vouchers as part of ITM P2P Mares Voucher

The draw has been made for the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing point-to-point mares voucher winners from the 2018/19 season.

All Irish point-to-point trainers who trained a mare to win an Irish point-to-point during the 2018-19 season were entered to win one of five €1,000 vouchers to be spent on a filly at Irish National Hunt sales in 2019 and 2020. The list of 101 handlers entered in the draw was generated by Irish Point-to-Point Services Ltd.

The winners are Cormac Doyle, Niall Kelleher, Cormac Farrell, Ken Budds, and John Edward Walsh.

ITM CEO Charles O’Neill commented: “ITM are very pleased to sponsor the ITM P2P Mares Vouchers once again. In recent years, vast improvements have been made to the National Hunt mares’ programme in both Britain and Ireland.

“In 2018 alone, there was an 11% rise in prize money for mares-only contests and an 8% increase in mares-only black-type opportunities. You need only look at the success of mares such as black-type winners Maria’s Benefit (IRE) and Mia’s Storm (IRE), who both graduated from Irish point-to-points, to see what can be achieved with mares.

“Congratulations to the winning handlers. We wish them the best of luck with their purchases.”

The €1,000 vouchers will be redeemable at the following sales and can be used only against the purchase of fillies and mares:
•    Tattersalls Ireland August NH Sale 2019
•    Goffs Land Rover Sale 2020
•    Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale 2020
