Weekend Preview | Knockanard 16th February 2020

Race 1 - Coolagown Stud & Shinnicks Spar 4yo Maiden

In a contest that is almost full of newcomers, Boston Joe and Petibonome are the only contenders that have a run under their belts. Colin Bowe has already won two four-year-old maidens this year, and any market moves could be worth taking note of.

Race 2 - Rathbarry Stud & Tattersalls Ireland 5yo Geldings Maiden

PAY THE PIPER made an encouraging debut at Ballyvodock recently, only beaten half a length on that occasion by Stellar Magic. There is no reason why he could not go one place better this time around. Mister Sweets and Mount Oscar both have decent efforts to their names also of late, and they look the biggest danger to the selection.

Race 3 - Coolmore & Grange Stud & Amber Service Station Open

ARCTIC SKIPPER has been a very admirable 11-year-old in open company this season, winning three open contests this season already. He looks the one to beat again on this occasion for the Halley team as he bids to take his fourth open of the season.

Fennos Storm, Macs Legend and Lite Duties have all been consistent of late in open company, and they should prove to be the biggest threat to Arctic Skipper

Race 4 - Riordans Supervalu Mares Winner Of One

SOVEREIGN GOLD
was a winner last time out at Aghabullogue for the Damian Murphy team, where she beat Rose Milan by three lengths, who has subsequently came out and won at Bellharbour.

She should be very competitive in this contest on the basis of that evidence, and looks the one to beat. Dubai Daisy, Chenery, and Moore Clouds are others for the shortlist, and any market moves could be worth following.

Race 5 - Glenview Stud & McCarthy Insurance Group 5yo+ Adjacent Maiden

MARYS CAP was making a relatively encouraging debut before unseating five out recently at Ballyvodock, and if she can improve from that effort and avoid any jumping errors this time around she may have the strongest form.

Any market moves for the newcomers could be interesting in a race like this and may be worth following.

Race 6 - GAIN Equine Nutrition & The quays Tapas & Grill Bar Fermoy 6yo+ Maiden (Nov Rdrs)

GET SUPREME
was just touched off by a short head at Carrigarostig recently and looks capable of going one spot better on this occasion.

The Bonny Boy and Wont Talk are others to note, whilst any market moves for any of the other contenders should be noted, and could be worth following.
