Video Archive | Comber 2000

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  We are starting with the 2000 videos.

The next fixture we look at is the North Down Foxhounds which had their meeting at Comber in January 2000.  

Below gives a brief re-cap of what happened on the day.
 
L’Ami De Adam tooking opening race at Comber in January 2000.  The nine-year-old mare ran out a fine two and a half length victory in the hands of Richie Barnwell.
 
Division two of the Open Lightweight was won by O’Fiach’s Hope, the son of Convinced was guided to victory by James McGurgan.
 
Paul Cashman made the journey from Fermoy all the worthwhile when landing the winners of two contest aboard Blue Alliance.
 
The Cork native was also back in the winner’s enclosure later on in the afternoon when landing division two of the five & six-year-old geldings maiden aboard Eglish.
 
The five & six-year-old mares maiden went to the way of Stella Maris in the hands of Eamon Magee.
 
Division two of the five and six-year-old mares maiden was the won by Clydeside in the hands of Brian Hamilton.
 
It was a quick double on the day for Hamilton who was also successful in the next race aboard Very Very Noble when winning a distance.
 
Antrim native Warren Ewing was in the winner’s enclosure when scoring by an impressive 25 lengths to claim the seven-year-old and upwards maiden aboard Givemeyouranswerdo.
 
Division two of the seven-year-old geldings maiden went the way of Royal Way in the hands of Paul Cosgrave.
 
The concluding division of the seven-year-old geldings maiden saw an impressive winner in Sheppardon who ran out a 20-length victory under Willie Rankin.
