Video Archives | Tyrella 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The East Down Foxhounds point-to-point fixture at Tyrella is the latest meeting to be added to our video archives.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at the East Down Foxhounds point-to-point at Tyrella was won by Huncheon Paddy and Willie Rankin.

The five and six-year-old geldings maiden was won in good fashion by All Rise and Aaron Stronge.

It was a dramatic conclusion to the five and six-year-old geldings maiden with Kings Slave running out at the last under Brian Hamilton, leaving the way clear for Holey Moley and Warren Ewing. This was welcome winner for Ewing who was returning from a long absence due to injury.  It was also his final winner as he retired later in the season.

The open lightweight provided spectators with a thrilling finish with False Tail and Our Boy battling it all the way to the line.  It was Our Boy and Brian Hamilton who came out on top when winning by neck.

Hazel Bank Lass claimed the seven-year-old and upwards mares maiden in the hands of Patrick Cosgrave.
Their victory was made all the easier the exit of Fishin Rhyme and Tom Cloke at the final fence.

Paul Cosgrave registered a quick double on the day when winning the five and six-year-old mares maiden aboard Little Dreamer.

The seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden resulted in another close finish with Lord Rockfield and Rory Lavery winning by a neck.

The concluding division of the seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden saw one finisher in Slaney Lord and Roger Quinlan.
