Video Archives | Maralin May 2003

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2003 season.

The next meeting to be added to the archives is the Killultagh, Old Rock and Chicester point-to-point fixture at Maralin.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race at Maralin, the confined hunt race was won by Father Tom in the hands of Thomas Dreaper.

Isle Beeavenue added another victory to his tally when winning the winners of two contest in the hands of Tommy Peoples.

The ITBA Mares Final was in good style by Camden Confusion in the hands of Brian Hamilton. The pair stayed on gamely from before the last to record a 15-length victory over Nelsons Nell and Simon McGonagle.

The open lightweight was won in good fashion by Finoel and Tommy Peoples.

The five year-old-geldings maiden saw an impressive winner in Forget The Past, the son of Past Glories was guided to victory by Brian Hamilton for handler and owner Colin McKeever.  Forget The Past went to have a very successful career under rules for Michael O’Brien winning eight races including wins at the Punchestown Festival and Leopardstown Christmas Festival and also finished 3rd in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The concluding race of the day, the six and seven-year-old maiden was won by Liberty Heights in the hands of James McGurgan.
