Meath and Tara Point to go ahead in Tattersalls Farm

An additional fixture has been added to the Autumn point-to-point programme which is set to get underway on September 19 at Ballingarry.

The popular Dowth Hall point-to-point could not take place this year due to the size of its attendance which last year broke the 6,000 mark, however the organizing Meath and Tara committee have elected to ensure that the traditional date of the fixture is filled ahead of the return of Dowth Hall in 2021.

They will host a point-to-point on Sunday October 25 at Tattersalls, returning to the popular right-handed venue for the first time since 2014.

The committee do however host their annual spring point-to-point across the road on the inside of Fairyhouse Racecourse and this fixture will ensure that four meetings take place across the final weekend in October.

Loughanmore and Courtown both race on Saturday October 24, with this Meath & Tara fixture at Tattersalls joining the Duhallow fixture at Dromahane on October 25.

The addition of a second fixture at Tattersalls brings to 37 the number of point-to-points that are now programmed for the enhanced Autumn schedule.
