Jury Duty lands Thurles Hunters Chase

Former American Grand National winner Jury Duty landed the Thurles Racecourse Hunters Chase in the hands of Jamie Codd.

The Gordon Elliott trained gelding travelled well into the straight and joined the favourite Winged Leader for the lead after the second last. The pair looked set for a battle on the run-in before the latter came down at the final fence.

The Sideways Syndicate owned gelding stayed on gamely on the run-in to deny the fast finishing Stand Up And Fight by three parts of a length.

Jury Duty started his career with JP Flavin when finishing third as a four-year-old at Ballyarthur in 2015.  After a successful stint on the track he returned to his roots when finishing second in an open at Portrush in October.  Ironically the pair finished runner-up to the David Christie trained Winged Leader.
