The Irish point-to-point community extend their sympathies to the family and friends of jockey Lorna Brooke who sadly passed away following a fall at Taunton earlier this month.
A statement from the Injured Jockeys Fund on Monday confirmed she had died.
"It is with deep sadness that we have to share the tragic news that Lorna Brooke passed away yesterday," they said.
"Her family thank everyone for their kindness in the last few weeks, particularly the staff at Southmead Hospital who were so professional.
"They will be having a private funeral and will hold a celebration of Lorna's life once Covid restrictions allow."
Lorna had ridden 17 winners in Britain and Ireland with one of her biggest successes coming on Irish soil back in 2015 in the inaugural Ladies Chase at Fairyhouse when she guided Paul Stafford’s Moonlone Lane to success, a victory on the Oscar gelding that she repeated a month later when the horse travelled over to Musselburgh.
May she rest in peace.
