PREVIEW | Galway Blazers (F) at Loughrea - Sunday
Enda Bolger could unleash his exciting new recruits Fils D’Oudairies and Floueur who both feature in a red-hot looking open contest that also includes the first three horses home from the Monksgrange open two weeks earlier.
Race 1 – Goffs UK Autumn Sale 4YO Maiden
The Colin Bowe team have had a horse finish in the placings in each of the five four-year-old races run this season including three winners in the division and whichever of their quartet of potential runners appears here is sure to attract plenty of attention.
On previous form, DONT WALK AWAY, who although a beaten favourite at Oldcastle a fortnight ago, brings the strongest form to this ahead of fellow Wexford challenger Heritier De Sivola.
Race 2 – Tattersalls Ireland 5YO Geldings Maiden
Pat Doyle and Walter Connors have produced a number of talented performers through point-to-points and so their AMIRITE is sure to attract plenty of attention ahead of his debut for a stable who won the four-year-old maiden on this card 12 months ago.
Monksgrange fourth Calvic is sure to benefit from that recent introduction, with Gavroche Dallier and Hard Lines others that can figure here.
Race 3 – Vincent Shields Memorial 5YO+ Mares Maiden
CLEAR ABILITY was only run down in the dying strides at Stradbally last season and she may be able to pick up where she had left off in this. Rucinski took a notable step forward on her return at Monksgrange and should not be too far away if continuing in that vein, whilst Psalmninetyone and Some Woman are other contenders.
Race 4 – Connollys RedMills + Michael Cooney & Sons Ltd Open
The first three horses home from the first open of the season at Monksgrange could all reoppose in this with Diese Des Bieffes, Rewritetherules and Samanntom all featuring in this.
However it could be hard to see them living with the Enda Bolger open debutants FILS D'OUDAIRIES and Floeur. The former who comes into this with a Chase mark of 140 and chased home Envoi Allen in the Killiney Novice Chase at Punchestown last season.
Race 5 – INHSC + Westport Equipment 6YO+ Geldings Maiden (Nov Riders)
The 125-rated LORD SCHNITZEL met with defeat on his pointing debut at Monksgrange, however he bumped into an above average horse for the grade on that occasion with the pair pulling over 20 lengths clear of their other rivals and he could gain a long overdue maiden success in this.
Is A Real Champ is back with the same connections who started him off pointing as a four-year-old following just two efforts under rules for Paul Nicholls, whilst Rian Thomas is another with placed track form who could give a better account of himself following his recent stable debut.
Race 6 – Connacht Tribune Winner of One
Despite potentially making a quick reappearance, RED VISION could not have been more impressive when dismissing a big field with the minimum of fuss at Castletown-Geoghegan last Sunday and he could well double up.
Wasdale Park was also a winner on that same card in Co. Westmeath and given that both he and stable companion Coastguard Station, who won his maiden a week earlier in Monksgrange, both have placed track form, they set a decent level opposition for the selection.
