PREVIEW | East Down (F) at Tyrella - Saturday

Gordon Elliott and Camilla Sharples won the open on this card back in 2019 with Kruzhlinin and they could follow-up some three years later with Mighty Stowaway the pick for Saturday’s fixture.

Race 1 – Kingsfield Stud 5YO Mares Maiden

The newcomer PEPPARDSTOWN LADY has an eye-catching pedigree, being a half-sister to the talented chasers Mala Beach and Bonny Kate, both of whom were previous Graded winners, and with this racing having a very open look to it, she could be the one to side with here on her debut.

Of those with experience, Miss Drussell comes into this in better form than Born Famous, with the former having posted her best effort to date when third at Ballindenisk earlier in the month.

Race 2 – Dennison JCB 5YO Geldings Maiden

AN MHI was sent off as the favourite for a red-hot maiden at Tattersalls in November and having travelled well throughout, he just gave way in the closing stages to finish a very encouraging fourth. The three horses that finished in front of him all sold for over 300,000 pounds each in the sales ring subsequently, and he would look to set a high standard for this.

Time For A Pint stayed on well at Turtulla earlier this month having met with trouble in running early on the final circuit, and alongside Old Style Humor, Forcing Bull and Thomas Mor they have definite place chances once again.

Race 3 – Bluegrass Dengie Winner of Three

LIKE A DEMON was a winner on this card two years ago and although he has not been seen in the pointing fields since finishing down the field in a Tattersalls open some 15 months ago, he has posted some respectable efforts under rules in the interim to suggest he could return to winning ways in a race like this.

English point winner Everything Now accounted himself well on his Irish debut at Turtulla, whilst Diegos Way could be a big player if recapturing this pick of his autumn form from Tattersalls.

Race 4 – Cosy Roof Open

MIGHTY STOWAWAY goes in search of his fifth victory of the season hot on the heels of one of his most dominant displays which came when defeating Fennos Storm by 16 lengths at Carrigarostig earlier this month.

There are a number of horses entered in this who are capable of putting it up to him on their day, including Poli Roi who was taken out of last weeks Hunter Chase in Thurles, but has won his last three opens. Some Man is held by the selection from their run at Tinahely, whilst the return of Space Cadet to pointing is interesting.

Race 5 – Armstrong Auctions 6YO+ Mares Maiden

LARKFIELD LEGACY has been knocking on the door for quite some time this term, and she looked set to finish placed for the fourth time on the bounce when parting company with her rider at Ballindenisk recently. Her consistency could be rewarded in this.

Any Time put up one of her best efforts to date when a close third in this race two years ago and has to come into the equation once again, whilst if Carlotalin or Violet Lady put their best foots forward they too could be players in this.

Race 6 – G Curran & Co. Ltd 6YO+ Geldings

The long journey from Tipperary could be rewarded for the Slattery team as AHAKNOWYERSELF looks hard to oppose for this. He had chased home Just A Dime at Ballindenisk on his latest outing, and with that horse immediately advertising the form by following up subsequently in winners company, it looks rock solid form.

Dovlator has changed stables since we last saw him, but his Curraghmore effort should allow him to get involved in this for new connections, whilst Iddergem, and the dual hurdles runner-up Get A Price are others to consider.
