February point-to-point fixtures get the all-important go-ahead

Entries for the opening four-year-old maiden races of 2022 are now open following the confirmation that all fixtures in the month of February can go-ahead.

Uncertainty had surrounded much of the upcoming point-to-point fixture list as the search for an underwriter for insurance policies continued.

A breakthrough courtesy of a new insurance scheme called The National Hunt Steeplechase, Point-to-Point and Field Insurance Programme (NHSPFS), provides insurance cover for Hunting Activities, including Point to Points, and all fixtures in the month of February can proceed as scheduled.

The timing of the development is significant as it comes just days before the start of the valuable new four-year-old maiden season is set to get underway on Sunday February 6th, with the fixtures at Ballinaboola, Bellharbour and Tallow all hosting a race in the division.

Entries for Ballinaboola and Bellharbour can be made online by clicking here.
