Race 1 - Tattersalls NH & The Bleahen Family 4yo Mares Maiden
There may not be a lot separating quite a few of these on their initial form, but the tentative selection would be TAKE NO CHANCES after she put up a fine effort on debut to finish fourth in a competitive looking race at Loughanmore over Easter. She was beaten little over four lengths on that occasion and is certainly open to improvement. Threeunderthree finished tailed off at Dromahane following her debut at Nenagh and if she could not bounce back it may be the Andrew Slattery-trained Contended that offers the greatest danger.
Race 2 - Goffs UK Spring Sale & The Bleahen Family 4yo Geldings Maiden
TROOPER THORN made his debut at Dromahane last month having been picked-up for E65,000 as a three-year-old and he posted a fine initial effort on Good ground which saw him finished just three lengths behind Genietoile, a horse that Rebecca Curtis subsequently purchased for at the recent Cheltenham Sales for 92,000 stg. That form would leave him as the one to beat ahead of Isocrate who finished fourth at the same venue a week earlier in the race that had been won by Croke Park.
Race 3 - ITBA & Liffey Mills 5yo Mares Maiden
Patrick Rooney may not have had a winner between the flags since his local fixture at Oldtown in 2017, but STOP THIS TRAIN would looks to have a favourites chance to put that right after she chased home Porter In The Park in a big-field maiden at Castletown-Geoghegan. Finding Fame took a notable step forward on her debut for current connections at Quakerstown last time and it will be interesting to see how she followes that up, whilst Super Dawn, Some Woman and Imperial Lough are others for the shortlist.
Race 4 - Goffs Property 5yo Geldings Maiden
LUCKY ZEBO had to overcome a serious blunder at the final fence en route to finishing second at Lisronagh on his debut and with further improvement likely, it should not leave him far off victory in this. There are plenty of dangers, none more so than the twice-placed Whataboutyeh and the returning Master Splinter, whilst Mark Scallan has his horses in top form at present and that means his Gametime and Zalando cannot be ruled out.
Race 5 - Connollys Red Mills & Garbally Oil Open- Novice Riders
A RATED has been farming races such as this of late as he picked up his third victory of the spring at Fairyhouse last Sunday with arguably his best performance of the season yet. He has already defeated the potentially re-opposing Some Are Lucky at Tattersalls and will be expected to confirm that once again. The Red Menace is a new rival for him and he has to be respected for local connections after winning on his first start in the open division at Castletown-Geoghegan.
Race 6 - Al Hayes Motors Ltd 6yo Maiden
OFFALY STAR had not previously tacked fences prior to his debut in this sphere, however he was placed off a mark of 91 over hurdles during the summer and is entitled to have needed his initial experience. However ULTIMATE OPTIMIST would look to be the standout. He was a well-supported favourite when coming down inside the final mile at Monksgrange in March and was clearly expected to produce a big performances.
